Subject: Jazz Musician and Singer George Melly has died

Jazz singer and author George Melly has died at his London home at the age of 80, his wife Diana has announced.
He had been suffering from lung cancer and vascular dementia, a condition which affects the brain after small strokes.
Despite his illness, the flamboyant entertainer continued appearing on stage right up to his death.
In January, the Liverpool-born musician was taken to hospital after collapsing on stage in East Sussex.

So sad...what a loss to the jazz community. RIP Mr. Melly.

Always sad to have a great voice silenced. Very sad the he outlived himself RIP :\'(
