Jazz fusion musician Joe Zawinul dies at the age of 75. Austrian-born composer of Weather Report classic "Birdland", keyboard player with Cannonball Adderley, and composer of one of my favourite songs in the entire world, "Mercy Mercy Mercy".
More information here. The spookiest thing above all this is that at four o'clock this morning I purposefully checked to find out whether or not he was still alive after listening to two of my favourite songs by him. Scary.

I liked Weather Report. Birdland is a classic RIP :\'(

I was thumbing through this board, and found this.....
Weather Report was one of the only Fusion Jazz artists I know of.
In fact, I have "Mr. Gone" on tape.
