(She's an incorrigible punster!  We shouldn't incorrige her, but...)

High road:  Given Linda's later recountings of her career, I'm not touching either those lines with a ten-inch pole.

Artsy road:  Front 242, Religion (Lovelace A-Go-Go Mix by J.G. Thirlwell), featuring extensive samples from Ms. Lovelace's performance.

Low road:  David Allen Coe, I Made Linda Lovelace Gag (from his infamous 18 X-Rated Hits compilation), which I'm also entering in the "Worst Song Titles Ever" thread.  That album's been banned from so many places that you can't even find a trace of it on discogs.com.  But something claiming to be a YouTube video of the song is the number one item on a suitably-crafted Google query.  If you were at work, you could safely click on the link that goes to the Google search, but if you click on the YouTube video that appears at the top of the page, I'd highly recommend that you mute the speakers and wear some headphones.  And have an explanation for why you're ashamed to be laughing so hard.

Coincidentally I just watched the documentary "Inside Deep Throat" last week.  It has a bunch of interviews with Gerard Damiano.  BBC didn't even post a picture of him.  He was a funky dude.  Always reminded me of Colonel Sanders!

I've never actually watched DT from beginning to end.  It's suuuuuch a terrible movie.  The music, the jokes, the....jeez, everything!  However, it started the short-lived porno-chic phenomenon and helped liberalize First Amendment rights.

Damiano claimed he didn't get rich off of DT.  The mob extorted all the money.  Linda Lovelace attempted a career as a professional victim (before dying in a car wreck in 2002), while Harry Reems became a born again Christian and sells real estate in Utah.  Damiano continued to make skinflicks until he retired in the early '90s.  He didn't seem like such a bad fellow, more of putz, but his early films--particularly DT and The Devil in Miss Jones--catalyzed porno into the mainstream--for better and for worse.  Damiano is undeniably a signficant figure in cinematic history.

I liked those lads better when they were doing wonky industrial-dance stuff like "Official Version" and "No Comment."  They bit the dust when the went for the Lollapalooza thing....and they never recovered!  I'm a Thirwell fan, but not for mixing F242.  Oh well, at least it's not Trent!  Totally off topic, but I couldn't resist....

His death brings a lump to your throat

His little sister is Amber Lynn.  Family biz.  According to his Wiki page, he'd already survived several heart attacks before the fatal one.  Was it genetic, or did he just do too much blow?

Even before it became a joke on Seinfeld, I wondered why he didn't call himself "Buck Naked"!
:P

Yeah, he and Amber kept the fact that they were brother and sister a secret.

Until they were both slated to perform a sex scene with each other for a flick.  Then they had to come clean, so to speak.
