Subject: Dino DeLaurentiis passes away.

Written By: JamieMcBain on 11/11/10 at 11:14 am

If you were a kid who grew up during the 80's, you might remember some of the films, he produced including.....

Manhunter

King Kong Lives

Maximum Overdrive

Silver Bullet

Year of the Dragon

Cat's Eye

Dune

Conan the Destroyer

The Bounty

The Dead Zone

Amityville II: The Possession

Conan the Barbarian

He had produced during his long and lengthy career, over 500 films, since the first film he produced, L'amore canta, in 1941.

Sadly, Dino passed away recently, at the age of 91, he will be very sadly missed.

I know, it's the part I hate doing the most, posting obituaries, on this site. I don't know how real obituary writers, do it.

It has been a sad couple of months, especially with the passing of Sally Menke, Jill Clayburgh, and Dino DeLaurentiis.

Dino was always one of my favorite producers and probably the first "producer" I was ever aware of.
I am sad to hear of his passing. He will be sorely missed but I will continue to be entertained by his
films for the duration of my lifetime!  :\'( :\'( :\'(

He was also infamous for the 1986 film 'Tai-Pan' which was a big budget flop.  He did make alot of great films, and if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have Giada.

RIP to a great film producer

Oh yeah.  If she ever accepts an offer from Heff, I'd buy 6 dozen copies of that Playboy issue

Well to preserve it, of course.  Prevent the pages from getting dog-eared and whatnot.
