According to NPR, I just found out that Geraldine Ferraro, who made history in 1984 as the first-ever woman to be nominated on a major party ticket for Vice President (namely that of the 1984 Democratic ballot, as Walter Mondale's running mate), has just passed away.

How sad. I remember the Mondale/Ferraro campaign well. I remember her subsequent Pepsi commercial and then as a face on numerous news commentary programs.

How sad. I remember the Mondale/Ferraro campaign well.
Walter Mondale's "Where's the Beef" retort to contender Gary Hart in that election was classic. 8)
