Subject: Ever cried over a celeb death?

Written By: youngerderek on 04/20/11 at 2:08 pm

I don't think I ever have. But then again, nobody who I was a devoted fan of, has died yet.

Nope, not yet, BUT I did ALMOST cry when Michael Jackson died. It's just that I never thought that he would go away. It was a little bit surreal!

Nope.  I've been saddened by a few but never to the point of tears.

Yes. Actually, not bawling my eyes out crying but more of just weeping.

-John Lennon
-Harry Chapin
-Bill Bixby

The first two was more of the way they died but Bill Bixby-even though the way he died was tragic (cancer), most people here know that he was my teenage heartthrob.

No...I was stunned into silence when Elvis and John Lennon died...but no tears that I recall. I also was shocked with the events surrounding Princess Diana's death. The televised funeral may have brought a tear to my eye...  But that is a more visual thing. The actual death was different...

A couple of times.

I got misty eyed when Michael Jackson died.  It was like a part of my childhood.

Patrick Swayze really got me.

Chris LeDoux.  I had no idea he was even sick and I got onto the internet to a story that he had died.  That one made me cry as bad ad Patrick's did.

I will admit that I shed a lot of tears on June 25, 2009

THE DAY FARRAH FAWCETT DIED.  :\'(

I also cried when I watched the documentary Left Eye took in the days before her death. The camera was rolling during that fatal crash. They included as much of it as they could. I have that on VHS somewhere in this apt.

I haven't cried, but I didn't listen to a Beatle song for a long long time after the incident that will not be named.

On those cold starry winter nights when all is still, some say you can still hear Lyricboy weeping for Johnny Wadd!

I suppose I would have cried when Morrissey died.  If he had died in 1987.  But he didn't.  He got washed up, moved to Beverly Hills, and turned into Tony Randall.

I came close to tears when Bryn Jones died.  I was at the apex of my Muslimgauze phase and the man behind Muslimgauze dies of an acute blood infection at the age of 38.  Thing is Jones is a niche celebrity's niche celebrity.  But I was buying a new Muslimgauze CD about every month between 1995 and 2000!

I played Muslimgauze every week on my radio program.  Got a lot of people interested in him.

I cried about Michael the day he died and I haven't shed a tear since. I was hurt when he went to Heaven, but I then focused my energy on helpuing my friends wo were fans. I managed to talk two away from suicide. (I'm not kidding, they really wanted to go after Michael) And I don't cry, because I feel like everytime I do, I give his murdered alleged Dr. Conrad Murray the satisfaction of having hurt my feelings and I refuse to do that. My friends wondered how I managed to keep my cool and not be freaking out. I didn't worry. Michael's in a place where he can't be hurt anymore ever.

:)

The only thing I hated was that as I cried, my dad offered to take me to a Prince concert to compensate. ??? Like a little man in high heels will make me feel better...

But Prince is on tour now, and I plan to call my dad on that offer as soon as a date in Texas pops up.  :)

Ialso got really misty when comedian John Ritter died. I watched Threes Company all the time on TVLand.

Oddly enough, I was pretty sorrowful (but not to the point of tears) when Luther Vandross died.  His voice was like butter to me.
Natasha Richardson and tv spokesman Billy Mays deaths were unexpected, but I did not cry.
