Subject: Degrassi Jr. High star's obituary comes 5 years too late

This is weird only because it took so long to confirm. Neil Hope, who played Wheels on the Canadian cult favorite, Degrassi Junior/Senior High, died alone in a Hamilton, Canada boarding home on November 27, 2007, 5 years before anyone even found out. Apparently, he had a troubled life, ranging from diabetes to personal and family problems. He was always a private person, and became a recluse after he broke up with his fiancee, who just discovered from Hamilton police last month about his death. A very sad moment indeed.

I read that too (since I'd watched the many incarnations of Degrassi). It's sad that he died alone when he had family that cared for him presumably, but I guess that was his choice. :(

I think, if I read the reports correctly when I saw this on Thursday, his family or at least his siblings knew but decided to keep the matter private. I'm not really sure how or why it suddenly came out...it makes me sad tho. I always like the character. Obviously I know nothing about the actor to know how I feel about him.

My question is why did his family tell the police and no one else? Did the family try to keep it from his ex-fiancee because they felt she was the cause of his depression? But it looks like Neil Hope will always be a mystery after his death.
