Subject: Jim Marker, inventor of Cheezies

Jim Marker, the inventor of the popular snack food Cheezies passed away on Tuesday at the age of 90

Though Marker was born American, he relocated to Canada, where the Cheezies brand snack food was produced by the W.T. Hawkins company, starting in Tweed, Ontario in 1949, before relocating to Belleville, Ontario in 1956, where it has remained ever since.

I know other companies around the world sell a Cheezies type of snack, but I do not know if the Hawkins brand is sold outside of Canada.  They are ever so tasty!  Thank you Jim for making Cheezies.  May you rest in peace

Must be Canadian fare.

While I have heard neither of Mr. Marker nor his product, after having seen the news stories I am convinced that the world has just lost a genius and major contributor to countless parties and munch-fests.  8)

He moved to Canada?

Last I heard he lost a duel with Julius Pringles in nineteen-ought-five!
