Subject: Carroll Shelby Gets the Checkered Flag...

Written By: LyricBoy on 05/11/12 at 4:59 pm

Octogenarian car builder Carroll Shelby passed away yesterday at the age of 89.

His performance cars were legendary, and it has been said that we will never know how many tons of rubber have been burnt off the wheels of Shelby vehicles, as the desire to smoke the tires was irresistable.

RIP Carroll.  Thanks for all those awesome whips, as well as your quite tasty Texas Chili Mix.  :)

Carroll Shelby should get automatic passage into heaven if he gives God one of these.

Carroll Shelby will not get "automatic" passage, he'll be speeding through with a Muncie Rockcrusher, no slushboxes for him, thats for sure.

Just saw TWO Cobra 427's go by this afternoon, probably not real ones, but damn nice replicas. 8)

Thanks to the man that brought us the Cobra, the GT350, the GLH and by association and inspiration, the Viper. Mr. Shelby showed us what a you could do when you put your mind (and a Ford V8) to it.
He showed up Ferrari at their own game and helped Ford rub their noses in their loss.

RIP.
