Subject: Former Israel Prime Minister Yitzak Shamir dead at 96

Written By: Indy Gent on 06/30/12 at 3:19 pm

Yitzak Shamir, Israel's second longest serving prime minister, has died. He was known for standing firm on several issues, including opposing a U.S. backed plan of trading land for peace with Palestine. Whether or not you agreed with him, he will remain one of the most influencial political figures in history.

One of the most influential racists in history too, devoted to the establishment and perpetuation of a country on the basis of religion and unequal rights, the antithesis of what America was founded upon... thus my complete lack of understanding as to why American politicans from both sides of the aisle support the regime, short of fear of losing campaign contributions.

His cause is ultimately doomed to failure, due to unceasing demographics and the fact that his country is encircled by Arab countries who are increasingly being taken over by anti-Zionist regimes, many due to the bumbling of our own government.

In decades to come he will be seen as a "leader" who devoted his career to oppressing indiginous people and attempted to keep their growing population without power and behind a wall.  People at that time will then wonder "how did those guys ever figure it was gonna work?".

If you reconsider what America was founded upon, America's fanatical support of Israel becomes a little clearer.
