Subject: Songwriter legend Hal David dead at 91

Hal David, best known as the songwriter for composer Burt Bacharach, has died of stroke complications Saturday. His songs with Bacharach include "What The World Needs Now Is Love", "Do You Know The Way To San Jose?", "Close To You", That's What Friends Are For", and "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head", which won them an Oscar. Hal David will be sorely missed.

This is very sad news. The Bacharach-David songwriting collaboration was legendary. R.I.P. to a songwriting legend
My favourite Bacharach-David composition was I'll Never Fall in Love Again. Not the Dionne Warwick version, but the 1990 cover by Deacon Blue

A legendary lyric writer in every sense of the word...
Bacharach had a habit of being liberal with time signature changes in his tunes and it's a tribute to Hal that his lyrics could flow with these changes without sounding 'jarring'...

Wow, we are losing way too many musicians this year before their time.
I remember a ll the classics that Burt & Hal composed.
