'Undercover Angel' Singer Alan O'Day Dies at 72.

After crafting popular songs for artists like the Righteous Brothers and Helen Reddy, he scored a No. 1 hit of his own in 1977.

Alan O'Day, who crafted popular songs for artists like the Righteous Brothers and Helen Reddy before scoring a No. 1 of his own with the bouncy 1977 hit "Undercover Angel," lost his battle with cancer on Friday, his record label announced. He was 72.

The songwriter, producer and artist died at his home in Westwood, Calif. surrounded by family and friends.

My first thought was wow he's 72 already, just shows I'm getting older. R.I.P Alan :\'(

He did write 1974's Helen Reddy #1 hit "Angie Baby" and the Righteous Brothers' hit "Rock And Roll Heaven"

I checked the net, couldn't find a greatest hits. I only know  "Undercover Angel" as well.

I also know Alan O'Day for the 1977 hit Started Out Dancing, Ended Up Making Love which made it to #72 in Canada.
Only reason I know it is because I am a chart aficionado.  Can't say as I ever heard it on the radio.
