Subject: Blues Singer Bobby 'Blue' Bland Dies

Written By: Henk on 06/24/13 at 5:18 am

Blues singer Bobby Bland (nicknamed "Blue") has died at the age of 83, his son Rod reported. Bland had been ill for a long period of time, so his passing comes as no surprise.

Bland scored hits with songs like "Farther Up The Road" (1957), "That's The Way Love Is" (1963) and most recently with "Members Only" (1985).
Viewers of BBC may be most familiar with "I Pity The Fool" (1961), a song that was used as the music for the closing credits for television show "World's Craziest Fools", hosted by Mr. T.

My daddy used to tell me stories about Bobby Blue Bland. He knew him the 50's and even played music with him once--my daddy used to be a drummer.
