Legendary lyricist Gerry Goffin, who composed dozens of smash hits with his then-wife Carole King, passed away today.

The duo wrote hits for big names like The Drifters, The Monkees, and Little Eva. After the couple split up, Gerry penned other hits for artists like Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, and Gladys Knight & the Pimps. 8)

Just heard about it yesterday; how sad.
He did write plenty of great songs, like you said, and he will be remembered. :(
