I'm not really convinced that it is. Knowing Robin(if that ever was his name), once he learned The Crazy Ones would not be renewed, he simply sat on the couch, closed his eyes, and said,
"MORK CALLING ORSON: ORSON, TAKE ME HOME. TO THIS WORLD, I HAVE NOTHING LEFT TO GIVE."
With Robin, I could believe anything. Just look at Good Morning Vietnam, Awakenings, Hook, Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Nine Months, Jack, Patch Adams, Happy Feet, or Night At The Museum to understand why. And of course, it would be wonderful to think of him still out there, assigned to another planet, bringing joy and laughter to all who inhabit it.
Sadly for us Earthlings, "That's about it for the Adrian Crone-hour." Fare thee well, my friend.

Doc

First thing I read this morning on waking up, and it saddened my day. Such a talented and funny man...

A great loss for the world in general, and entertainment industry in particular, but most of all for his relatives and friends. I hope they find the strength to carry on.

All I can do here is offer you some Robin Williams that you might not be familiar with:

I remember a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, I watched a show called "The Great American Laugh-Off." Most stand-up comics rarely made me laugh but there was one guy on there who just had me in stitches. It wasn't until about a year later when I discovered that the guy who had me crying from laughing so hard was none other than Mork himself. (I learned it was him by reading the article about him in T.V. Guide after Mork & Mindy was a popular show.) From that point on, he was always one of my favorites.

I don't usually get too upset when I hear about celebrities passing-yeah, it's sad but they usually don't effect me. But, last night, when I heard about Robin Williams, it made me very sad. He really touched the world with his comedy, and quick thinking. And the fact that it appears that he took his own life just makes me that much sadder.

Some of my favorites of his:

I just downloaded it from Amazon and listening to it now. I think everyone who loved Robin should, besides ordering his classic films. How can it not help them feel better, and thereby fend off the darkness that consumed Robin and lurks in the shadows behind so many of us? I hope Bobby performs at the memorial, even though he once admitted Genesis was his favorite band(at the VH-1 Honors). But if McFerrin does a nice tribute, then everyone should walk away and will always remember Robin with a smile.

Yeah, he had one girlfriend who sued him for like $6MM. That would not help things.

Actually they cannot say that reliably. There is no known method of diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease on a living person. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's Syndrome unless Parkinson's Disease was confirmed via autopsy.

Howard the initial stages of Parkinson's SYNDROME are fairly mild and can be subtle. My brother has it and early on I did not know. But now it has progressed where his one hand shakes if he is not holding on to something.

The world has been waiting for details of Robin Williams’ memorial and funeral, so that they too can pay tribute.

But it has emerged that the ashes of the late comedian were scattered over the San Francisco Bay just a day after his body was found in the Californian residence he shared with his wife, Susan.

The Bay had been the home of the comedian for almost 50 years before he took his own life, aged 63.

The information was revealed in Williams’ death certificate, which detailed what happened to his remains.

The State Of California document states that final disposition was "scattering in San Francisco Bay off the coast of Marin County".

It goes on to confirm that the ceremony took place on 12 August.

Robin Williams' daughter, Zelda, has spoken out for the first time since her father's death last August.

The actor and comedian took his own life at his Californian home at the age of 63.

Ms Williams told NBC's Today Show there was "no point" in asking why her father killed himself.

"We don't have an explanation," she told reporter Kate Snow. "There's no point questioning it... blaming yourself or the world. It happened."

The 25-year-old said it was "going to take a lot of work to allow myself to have the sort of fun, happy life that I had, but that's important".

"Anybody who has ever lost anyone works very hard to continue that memory in a positive way."

Williams, who was famous for films such as Good Morning Vietnam, Dead Poets Society and Mrs Doubtfire, was understood to have been battling depression at the time of his death.

I understand the daughter's point of view. A couple years ago one of my best/oldest friends did the same as Robin Williams.

What happened, happened. Trying to make sense out of it or wondering how you could have prevented it is really futile, because in the end, the deed is done and you can't turn back that clock. It is hard to describe the destruction that is unleashed when this happens. We feel it every day.  :-\\
