Former convicted spymaster John Walker apparently died in the Butner Federal Prison in North Carolina.
Walker was famous for his spy ring, which included his brother, his son, and a Navy buddy. Walker's ring was active from 1967 to 1985 as they sold secrets to the old Soviet Union.
A coworker of mine recently did time at Butner. I'll have to ask him if he knew Walker...
