The American born MC is best known in his native country as host of 'Card Sharks' (1978-1981) and 'Sale of the Century' (1983-1989).  Having family in Canada, he held dual citizenship and was perhaps better known in Canada as host of the long running game shows 'Headline Hunters' (1972-1983) and 'Definition' (1974-1989) and was also the longest serving host (24 years) of 'The Miss Canada Pageant', which he hosted from 1967-1990

:o Don't scare me like that. I thought Joe Perry had died.  :-\\ Let's hope he doesn't "walk that way" anytime soon.

The only one of these game shows I've heard of is Card Sharks. Still, RIP. :(

He was a great pitcher during the----oops, wrong Jim Perry! (That guy's still alive.) :D

Anyhoo, I remember watching him host Sale Of The Century for a while during the 80s. He was a great game show emcee. RIP Jim. :\'(

RIP, Jim.  But no thread mentioning that show would be complete without this track.

I was a fan of that show too... although I personally liked the version hosted by Bob Eubanks better.
