Subject: Alan Young, of "Mister Ed", is Dead

Written By: LyricBoy on 05/20/16 at 6:25 pm

Just saw in the CBS news, legendary "Mister Ed" star Alan Young has passed away. He headlined the show from 1961 to 1966.

No word at this point as to cause of death other than they said it was "from natural causes", whatever that means.  :-\\

As sad as it is, I confess that I thought he died a long time ago.  :-[

I just saw this on Twitter. I can't even begin to express how this hurts me. I grew up watching Mr. Ed reruns as a kid and it was one of my favorite shows along with Dennis the Menace and Dobie Gillis, along with many others.

I don't know. I'm just hurt. I know Mr. Young is at peace, but it's really hard to say goodbye to a really large piece of my childhood. Thanks for the laughs and memories.  :\'(

Unfortunately, I didn't watch reruns of Mr. Ed, I always viewed him as scrooge McDuck

I did too! What a great show.  His character was great, and he was great in the role.

In fact, I have recently been watching the reruns on the AntennaTV channel.

Well Zsa Zsa has already been mentioned in the "Old Living Celebrities" thread, so it's likely we'll be hearing of her demise soon.  :-\\

Well, not just the ducktales series, but he was doing voicework on the Disney games and their junior shows too.
I just figured your grand kids watched them! ;) ;D

Damn, this year seems worse than 2011-2013 in celebrities deaths combined. Why the hell does everyone have to die that were cherished? I know the man is 96, which is pretty old for somebody, but that's really sad.

Yeah I've been wondering that too. Why aren't just jagoffs dying this year? That would be better.

Yeah. Those celebrities don't deserve to die.
