Subject: Canadian Mobster Rocco Sollecito Rubbed Out

Written By: LyricBoy on 05/28/16 at 8:22 am

Popular reputed Canadian mobster and construction consultant, Rocco Sollecito, one of the top wise guys in Canada's Rizutto Crime Family, is reported to have been shot to death in Laval, Quebec yesterday. The local constabulatory is viewing his death as decidedly not accidental. Rocco was 67 years old.

It appears that the Rizutto family is purging the older generation of leadership in favor of a new generation of "young Turks" if you will. A few months ago, 52-year-old lieutenant Lorenzo "Skunk" Giordano was similarly gunned down.

It looks like Rocco got double crossed.  He was serving as consigliere to the young Turks but ultimately got the Luca Brasi treatment.  >:(

I may be just interested with the Mafia, but I wonder why would young mobsters shoot down their wiseguys? Isn't that disgraceful to their family? Just a shame.

The young wise guys have to kick back a hefty portion of their "income" as tribute to the elders. So by rubbing them out, they don't have to pay up, and indeed set themselves up to collect tribute payments from their new underlings.

That is, until the underlings figure out the same thing.

Mob life ain't no picnic. It's hard work just trying to stay alive.

But it's still disrespectful towards their elders, since they're the ones who probably got them made. I mean, there is that certain someone that may be suspicious over their family, especially when it's tough facing their rules.

Yeah, which is the strategy for the Mafia.
