Storied Boston Red Sox player Bill Buckner has passed away at the age of 69, reportedly from Lewy Body Dementia.  :-\\

Despite a quite respectable playing record racking up 2715 lifetime hits, Bill has always, first and foremost, been remembered for a blown play in Game Six of the ‘86 World Series, where New York Mets slugger Mookie Wilson batted a hit between Bill’s legs.

I do too... he was still active during my early childhood years; and I do have a few baseball cards of his.

Sure, he was infamously remembered for an errant play that caused the Mets to win the sixth game of the '86 World Series (and ultimately the series itself), but he was a good hitter overall.

R.I.P. Mr. Buckner :\'(
