North Carolina rising rapper Box Carlito (birth name Vincente Arocho) has been gunned down in broad daylight in East Raleigh NC. Reports indicate that he was hit by 25 shots, so foul play is assumed. An associate, Jaquan Tyrone Dumas, was also shot. Just a few hours prior to the shooting, Box had posted $100k bail money for Dumas.

News accounts stated that Box was infamous for his illegal ventures with his buddy, Dumas. They have been caught for armed robbery, cocaine distribution, etc. and both faced Federal charges on a variety of issues.  Apparently Box lived what he rapped, unlike some of today’s rappers who grew up in the ‘burbs and pretend to be gangsters.  ::).

But somewhere along the line he must have made some enemies who wanted him gone. That’s what they say when you play the game.

Yesterday the cops identified and captured two suspects in the killing of Box and his associate.

Jonathan Manning, 21, and Tyshon Solomon, 22, were charged with two counts of murder each. No word on Jonathan, but Tyshon was well known to the local constabulary, having been named in at least two previous shooting incidents.  Apparently the catch-and-release program is not working.

Just read that the two suspects are now formally charged with two counts of first degree murder each.
