Pioneering Russian cosmonaut Alexei Leonov has passed away (reportedly from natural causes) at the age of 83. :\'(

In the raucous days of the “Space Race”, Leonov scored a first for the Russkies... he was the first human to perform a space walk, beating the Americans to the task. That 12 minute “walk” nearly ended in disaster though. When he tried to re-enter the space capsule, his suit had expanded due to the air pressure, kinda like a Michelin Man, and he couldn’t fit through the door. :o He had to bleed off air pressure from his suit, and he barely made it back in.
