Here Sesame Street just celebrated its 50th anniversary, now it loses such an iconic actor-even though he did hand the reigns on to Matt Vogel for Big Bird & Eric Jacobson for Oscar.

I always loved Sesame Street, even when I was growing up during The early 1980's, R.I.P. Carroll Spinney, you will be missed. :\'(

Carrol Spinney was one of the original actors, along with Dr. Loretta Long, Susan, and Bob McGrath, Bob, to when Sesame Street started in 1969. I won't ever forget Mr. Spinney's Big Bird voice.

Ya its sad Sesame Street started going downhill in the late 80s :(
I may have stopped watching it by then. I know I watched it in the early-to-mid 1980s because that's when I was little (early elementary school at the latest).
