Subject: Andy Gill Gone at 64, may had died from coronavirus

Andy Gill died on February 1 and his wife Catherine Mayer believes that he was one of the very early cases of coronavirus and she has been trying to get answers.

His widow Catherine Mayer has revealed in a blog post that she believes it could have been coronavirus that killed him despite his death certificate stating "(a) multi-organ failure, (b) pneumonia".

Heartbroken Catherine has shared on how she watched Andy - who was previously diagnosed with chronic condition sarcoidosis - present symptoms of low oxygen, lethargy and diminished appetite before his passing - which we now know are signs of Covid-19 - in a lengthy post she shared on her blog.

Catherine has told how he began to suffer Covid-19 symptoms at the end of 2019 and the start of 2020 after returning from China with his bandmates in late November - months before China revealed the bug was spreading.

She said that after China shared on the Coronavirus pathogen on January 7 that Andy's doctors asked if he had visited Wuhan - the epicentre of the disease - during the tour but Andy thought it was unlikely he had picked up the bug as "Gang of Four's tour had taken the band only to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou".

After Catherine took her theory to one of Andy's specialists and the medical professional admitted that it had crossed his mind that Covid-19 could have been the reason for Andy's death but that he did not want to update her until he has a "definite answer".

I remember hearing that he'd passed away earlier this year, but I had not realized that he was a potential COVID victim. :o :(

Also I do happen to know one song of theirs, namely "I Love A Man In Uniform."
