Subject: Call Disconnected for Bernard Ebbers

Written By: LyricBoy on 02/03/20 at 5:12 am

Notorious WorldCom fraudster Bernard Ebbers, who gained fame, fortune, and ultimately imprisonment due to the rise and fall of his cell phone company, has passed away at the age of 78.

Starting out as a hotelier, in 1983 he invested in a little phone company LDDS “Long Distance Discount Services”. Eventually the company grew into the behemoth WorldCom, which owned MCI Communications.

However it turned out that the growth was propelled by Bernie and his buds cooking the books, and the company collapsed in 2002.  Johnny Law then caught up with him, and he was sentenced to 25 years in the slam back in ‘06. He was just released from prison, for health issues, this past December.
