Yes, he had diabetes for years.

It drove me crazy the way he said "diabeetus". Was that supposed to be "folksy" or something? Equally annoying are people who say "ath-a-lete". There's no middle "a" syllable, people.

I think that’s just the way Wilford talked. While on the subect of annoying utterances, on my list are:

‘it’s always feast or phantom”
”His actions only exasperated the situation”
‘He was butt naked”
”I could care less.”

"I could care less" is the worst! It just goes to show people do not pay attention to what they are saying, and in fact do not know what they are saying.  Analyze it:

If you COULD care less, it means you have care to lose. So you actually DO care.

The correct thing to say is "I couldn't care less". That means you REALLY don't care. You have NO care to lose. So, RIGHT THIS MINUTE, STOP saying "I could care less". You're contradicting yourself.

I was wondering if that was the case too.

Yes, he had diabetes for years.

That's true, he did. He even was a spokesman for Liberty Medical services for a lotta years.

I liked him in the show Our House. I wish they would put the series on DVD.

I’m surprised he was only 85. He looked old on Our House and he would have only been early 50s.

My grandmother had diabetes, and I remember she used to pronounced it "die-beetuz" or "dia-beetuz." At some point she started pronouncing it correctly, but I guess it was a gradual thing instead of a big WTF.

Incidentally, my family is originally from Utah.

And Brimley died from kidney disease.
