Subject: Hogans Heroes Namesake Gone at 87

Robert Hogan, known for his work on Laverne & Shirley, has passed away at the age of 87 from pneumonia. :\'(

Point of trivia: he was originally considered for the title role in the ill-fated war comedy Hogan’s Heroes, but was passed over for John Crane. HH co-creator Bernie Fein — who was a friend of Hogan's, decided to name the show after him even though he wasn’t gonna be in it. 8)
In addition to L&S, Hogan appeared in The Twilight Zone, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, I Dream of Jeannie, The Wire, M*A*S*H, DOOL, Gomer Pyle, Law & Order (three different flavors) Young and the Restless, and he even did a guest appearance on Hogan's Heroes. 8)
