Subject: Late Report: Frankie Little of the O’Jays Passes Away

Written By: LyricBoy on 12/15/21 at 5:57 pm

It’s a bit of a late report, but Frankie Little Jr., one of the founding members of The O’Jays, has been identified from the remains found in Twinsburg Ohio back in 1982.  :\'(

Frankie worked with lead vocalist and co-founder Eddie Levert on a handful of songs, including 1964’s “Do the Jerk,” 1966’s “Pretty Words,” and 1967’s “Oh, How You Hurt Me” (he’s also credited with vocals on 1962’s “Down at the Corner”).

He was finally identified via DNA techniques. At the time his body was found, it was discovered in several plastic bags, dismembered, behind a machine shop. The police at the time estimated that the remains had been deceased for 3 or 4 years, so his  passing was probably in 1978 or 79. At this stage of the game, the police suspect foul play, but have no serious leads.  :-\\

It’s a technology thing. They finally were able to check some of those do-it-yourself-DNA databases to see if they could find a familial match. From what I have read, they found a very close match and talked to the lady, who told the investigators that she had a cousin (who was Frankie) who had disappeared decades ago.
