Written By: LyricBoy on 05/02/22 at 6:17 pm

Legendary rock ‘n roll drummer Ric Parnell, who played the role of drummer Mick Shrimpton in the gag film This Is Spinal Tap, has passed away at the age of 70.  :\'(  Unlike his Spinal Tap alter ego, Mr. Parnell did not spontaneously combust.

But Parnell was not a one-band wonder. Prior to Spinal Tap, he also drummed for Atomic Rooster. He also played on Toni Basil’s 1982 smash “Mickey” and with Michael Des Barres, Yes singer Jon Anderson, Ravi Shankar, and Wayne Kramer of MC5 Radio Birdman’s Denik Tek.  8)
