My heart goes out to the U.K. She was an amazing woman to be admired.

Anne Princess Royal is escorting her mother's casket to lie in state so that people can pay their respects and then the funeral will take place next Monday.
The entire family came together in Scotland to say goodbye.  Prince Andrew and his children were there, Prince Edward and his children were there, Princess Anne was there with her children were there.

So, the line of succession has changed quite a bit.

William The Prince of Wales
Prince George
Princess Charolette
Prince Louis

Prince Harry of Sussex
Mr. Archie
Miss Lilibet

Anne Princess Royal
Peter Philips
Islah Phillips
Savannah Phillips

Zara Tindall
Mia Tindall
Leena Tindall
Lucas Tindall

Prince Edward of Wessex
Lady Louise Windsor
Viscount James Severn

Princess Beatrice of York
Sienna Mozzi

Princess Eugenie of York
August Brooksbank

Prince Andrew would have been after Lilibet if he hadn't caused a scandal and got stripped of his royal title.  But I don't think Beatrice and Eugenie really care if they get a royal title because they have regular jobs outside of their family.

Has The Family ever thought about an extreme embalming before she has been laid to rest? ???

The Burial and Cremation Act does not apply to funerals of members of the Royal House. For example, the body of a royal personage may be embalmed to preserve it, and the interment does not have to take place within the statutory time limit. It is believed the Queen Elizabeth I is embalmed.

Queues are already starting to form in London ahead of the Queen's arrival to Westminster Hall in the Houses of Parliament, where she will be lying-in-state for four days.

This will begin at 17:00 BST on Wednesday and will last until 06:30 on Monday 19 September - the day of the Queen's funeral.

The queue begins at Lambeth Bridge, where mourners are preparing for a long wait.

It's where they preserve the body few days before being laid to rest, they prop up the body and stand it up in different positions before it starts to get limp and rigid, I think this process costs a lot of money but it is to make the family happy.

The public viewing of the Queen's coffin in Edinburgh has ended. More than 26,000 people had filed through St Giles' Cathedral where Her Majesty lay at rest for 24 hours. Thousands of people are now waiting outside the church for the coffin to leave and be transported by road to Edinburgh Airport. The state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will take place at 11:00 BST on Monday 19 September. Here's what you need to know:

It will be held at Westminster Abbey, which has a capacity for around 2,200 people

There hasn't been a monarch's funeral service in the abbey since the 18th Century, although the funeral of the Queen Mother was held there in 2002

Ahead of the service, the Queen's coffin will be carried from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey on the State Gun Carriage of the Royal Navy

Afterwards, the Queen's coffin will be drawn in a walking procession from the abbey to Wellington Arch, at London's Hyde Park Corner, before heading to Windsor by hearse.

The coffin will make its final journey that afternoon to Windsor Castle, via the Long Walk.

Some 500 heads of state and foreign dignitaries are expected to attend the funeral, including US President Joe Biden

The day is a Bank Holiday for the whole of the UK

It will be the first state funeral in the UK since 1965, for the former prime minister Winston Churchill

The funeral will be broadcast on BBC television and available to stream on BBC iPlayer

Prince William and Prince Harry will walk together behind the Queen's coffin in a procession in London on Wednesday (today).

The brothers, along with the King, will follow the coffin on foot from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall, where the Queen will lie in state.

The procession will leave the palace at 14:22 BST and is expected to arrive at Westminster Hall at 15:00 BST.

A service lasting about 20 minutes will then be led by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The King's three siblings - Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward - will also walk in the procession.

Camilla, the Queen Consort, and Catherine, the Princess of Wales, will travel by car, as will Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.

Is the Duchess of Cornwall position now vacant? ???
Duchess of Cornwall is a courtesy title held by the wife of the eldest son and heir of the British monarch. The current duchess is Catherine, wife of Prince William, Duke of Cornwall.

On 8 September 2022 the title merged with the Crown when its previous (and longest-serving) holder, Prince Charles, became King upon the death of his mother Elizabeth II. The following day, King Charles III bestowed the title upon his eldest son, Prince William, Duke of Cornwall and Cambridge.

Charles was created Prince of Wales and Earl of Chester on 26 July 1958, though his investiture was not held until 1 July 1969, when he was crowned by his mother in a televised ceremony held at Caernarfon Castle.

After almost a week of the highest-profile activity, a somewhat quieter time beckons for the Royal Family as authorities gear up for the state funeral on Monday.

The focus of many will be on the Queen lying in state in Westminster Hall.

But the Royal Standard is no longer flying above Buckingham Palace, as the King is back in Highgrove in Gloucestershire.

He has no official engagements today, but has been taking calls from world leaders since the procession yesterday.

Those calls, state business and catching up on the work pushed to one side by the transition will dominate his day.

The Prince and Princess of Wales will travel to Sandringham to look at the floral tributes left there and the Earl and Countess of Wessex, Edward and Sophie, will visit Manchester.

Did you ever wonder why a personage as prominent as Queen Elizabeth always carried a handbag in public? Surely she had staff to carry any personal items she might need. Turns out it was a secret code.

Royal secret code: How does the Queen signal to her staff - without saying a word?

www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1192423/royal-secret-code-the-queen-handbag-secret-signals-to-staff

Given that there is now a king on the throne, and the next several in line are male, I suppose the handbag code will be retired.

Summary:

If the Queen placed her handbag on the table at dinner, it is a sign she wished the event to end in the next five minutes.

If she put her handbag on the floor, she is saying she was not enjoying her current conversation and wished to be rescued by her lady-in-waiting.

When she switched her bag from one hand to the other, it was a sign she was ready to end a conversation.

Typically, she held her bag in her left hand or on her left arm, but when she shifted it to her right, a staff member would likely be by her side immediately to save her from the interaction she wished to end.

Lovely photos - well done.  Thanks for posting.
You're welcome.

As for yesterday, we were stuck in one place due to security and the mass amount of people, I would had wished to be in The Mall or near Wellington Arch, there we would have seen more.

The Queen's name has been inscribed on a new ledger stone in the Windsor chapel where she was buried on Monday.

The late monarch was laid to rest with her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, in the George VI Memorial Chapel - alongside her parents and sister.

Buckingham Palace says the stone replaces a black slab naming George VI and Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.

The names of the Queen and Prince Philip are included under a metal star of the Order of the Garter.

I was wondering how close you were to the action.
I was four rows back from the front, the hearse passed by about fifteen yards in front of me. I took pictures and videos, but at the moment cannot display them here.

That’s all right. At least you got to see it.

The dazzling crown which sat on the Queen’s coffin

While the Queen was lying in state, on top of her coffin rested the Imperial State Crown, perhaps the most familiar treasure in the Crown Jewels - a priceless collection of tens of thousands of gemstones collected over the centuries by British kings and queens.

The crown sparkles with nearly 3,000 stones - including 2,868 diamonds, 273 pearls, 17 sapphires, 11 emeralds, and five rubies.

Historically, right back to the Middle Ages, crowns were viewed as expressions of wealth and status.

Made in 1937 for the coronation of the Queen's father, King George VI, the Imperial State Crown was designed to be lighter, and to fit better, than the crown it replaced - which dated back to Queen Victoria. But nevertheless, the Imperial Crown still weighs in at a hefty 2.3lbs (1.06kg).

BTW, it was on this date (September 22nd) in 1896 – Queen Victoria surpasses her grandfather King George III as the longest reigning monarch in British history.

The Prince of Wales has told volunteers and staff who helped on the day of the Queen's funeral "certain moments catch you out" as he continues to grieve.

The first picture of the new ledger stone marking the Queen's final resting place in Windsor has been released by Buckingham Palace.

The black burial stone has been set into the floor of the George VI Memorial Chapel, where the monarch was buried on Monday.

The stone is engraved in memory of the Queen, her parents, and her late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.

It replaces a previous slab dedicated to George VI and the Queen Mother.

The fresh stone now reads "George VI 1895-1952" and "Elizabeth 1900-2002" followed by a metal Garter Star, and then "Elizabeth II 1926-2022" and "Philip 1921-2021".

All four royals were members of the Order of the Garter, the most senior order of knighthood in the British honours system. The order of chivalry dates back to medieval times and is made up of the monarch and other senior figures, including ex-prime ministers and former military chiefs.

Queen Elizabeth II died of old age, according to extracts from her death certificate.

It says she died at 15:10 BST in Balmoral Castle in Scotland on 8 September - she was 96.

The National Records of Scotland published the certificate on Thursday.

The document was signed by her daughter, Princess Anne.

The death was recorded on 16 September by the Registrar General for Scotland.

Her death certificate also bears the name of her father, King George VI, and mother, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon.

BBC News confirmed the death at 18:31 BST on 8 September following a statement from the Royal Family.
