Subject: End of Dixieland Delight for Jeff Cook

Written By: LyricBoy on 11/08/22 at 5:33 pm

Jeff Cook, co-founder, guitar strummer, and fiddle player for the legendary country group Alabama, has passed away at the age of 73. :\'(  In recent years he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Syndrome. (News articles incorrectly state that he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, but that can only be determined via a brain dissection).

Cook helped co-found the band alongside Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry more than 50 years ago. While starting from humble beginnings, the band changed the face of country music, selling more than 80 million albums and charting more than 40 No. 1 hits, including classics like Love in the First Degree, Dixieland Delight, and The Closer You Get.  8)
