Subject: Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Written By: Tashlovglit on 05/22/13 at 5:23 pm

The improv show is back!  Ryan Styles, Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie will once again be joined by celebrity guests.  Only this time Drew has been replaced by Talk Show host/actress Aisha Taylor.  There's no word on why Drew is not joining in on the fun.  The CW will be showing it.  Interesting, since most of their series are young adult shows.  This show, however, is geared towards the audience that loved it several years ago.  It stars July 16 and only 13 episodes are being aired.

Any Whose Line fans out there?  From the US or UK version?

I watched the show now and then. Quite a few funny bits. Ryan, Wayne & Colin are 3 very talented individuals.
I saw Colin Mochrie in Vancouver, once.

I hope they can recapture that same magic again. Good luck to them.

Yes, I did.  Walking on the street (not in performance).

I was never a fan, found it too contrived.  :-\\

Love the show, especially the Richard Simmons edition

I loved the show, particularly the U.S. version of it. My favorite skits include Props, Scenes From A Hat, Living Scenery (where two people, sometimes special guests, act as pseudo-scenery for whatever Ryan and Colin act out), Sound Effects (particularly the version in which two audience members are chosen to provide the sounds for the scene), and Irish Drinking Song.

As yet, there is no sign of the new series over here in the UK.

Haven't seen any sign of it in the US either. I might have to check my local listings.

I loved this show when it originally aired. My sister and I watched it all the time.

Well, last week I finally decided to check it out. Great to see Wayne, Colin and Ryan performing improv comedy again. :D The "Props" and "Weird newscasters" and "Living scenery" games are still lotsa fun and provide quite the hilarity.

Drew Carey was it's best host. It just won't be the same. I used to watch it in high school, re-runs.

I loved this show in the 2000s. I watched the new version a few years back, I remember being annoyed at the way the new host hands out points, even though the points don't matter anyway.

One TV Show I have not seen for a long time, due to (a few years back) the lack of shows on YouTube.

I have just discovered all episodes for the 10 UK series are available on the Channel 4 catch-up app.

I must be the odd man out. Never saw this show as even a bit funny even though I like some of the other work the cast members have done in other venues. I would have renamed this show Whose Suckfest Is This Anyway.  :P

Yep, the host always introduced the show by saying: "Welcome to Whose Line Is It Anyway, the show where everything's made up and the points don't matter!" Drew Carey, when he hosted, would often add something like: "That's right, the points are just like (insert joke here)."

And at the end of whatever game was played, the host would say "A thousand points to (cast member)" or "(a special guest)" or even "(an audience member)". But then he'd remind the viewers that the points were irrelevant.

Still funny, but do seem dated now.

I used to watch it around 20 years ago with my kid’s mom. It was those same great performers but with the British host.

My favorite was Ryan stiles sound effects.

Ryan Stiles is my favourite performer too, and I like the party quirks round.

Last week I saw two episodes of WLIIA, one with Vernon Davis (I think) US Football Player, and Penn and Teller. The latter had one fabulous moment, in 'scenes we like to see' in Star Wars, Chewbacca brushing his teeth. I am trying to find the video for it.
