Subject: James Corden's Late, Late Show debut praised in US

Written By: Philip Eno on 03/25/15 at 2:28 am

James Corden's debut on TV's The Late, Late Show has been praised in the US.

Fans and critics were impressed by the 36-year-old host, calling the talk show "inspired lunacy" and "a winner".

Corden, a relative unknown in the US, was joined by Hollywood stars Tom Hanks and Mila Kunis for the first show in LA on Monday.

He introduced himself to the audience, saying: "However shocked you are that I am doing this job, you will never be as shocked as I am."

A raft of A-listers also joined forces to record videos for his first show.

prior to doing this permanent hosting gig he moderated a panel for the TV show The Good Wife at PaleyFest... he was really good, very funny.  It's avail on Yahoo Screen but I think only in the US.

The week before his debut they had a few test shows with a live studio audience. I went to the very first one. It will probably never make the air but it was a lot of fun!

I love The Late Late Show with James Corden.  I knew about him before his US debut because I am always watching British stuff on YouTube

His show airs on CBS opposite Late Night with Seth Meyers on NBC.  Corden was an unknown in the US, Seth Meyers is somewhat well-known in the US, and from what I have noticed, Corden is the one getting all the big guest stars.  Not too shabby!
