Subject: Deal or No Deal

Written By: Philip Eno on 09/18/15 at 10:36 am

Noel Edmonds gets the chance to open the red boxes later as he sits in the hot seat for a special 10-year anniversary episode of Deal or No Deal.

Comic Sarah Millican takes over hosting duties as Noel feels the pressure of trying to win up to £500,000 for his chosen charity.

Millican herself took part in a charity version of the Channel 4 show, dealing at £20,000.

"I was thrilled to be asked to guest host Deal or No Deal on such a momentous occasion," she said. "Stepping in to the shoes of a TV legend like Noel Edmonds was a bit daunting.

"But really, I was just happy it wasn't me playing the game again. I don't think my stress levels could take another go."

I'm not sure, but Howie Mandel was a great emcee in both the primetime (NBC, hour-long) and syndicated (half-hour) versions. I started watching it c. 2009 or so, when GSN began picking up the reruns.

I can't believe it's been 10 years already. I've been watching it ever since it first premiered.

Subject: Deal Or No Deal: No new Channel 4 deal for Noel Edmonds' game show

Written By: Philip Eno on 08/20/16 at 4:26 am

Channel 4 has told Noel Edmonds there will be no new deal for the studio version of game show Deal Or No Deal.
Edmonds has hosted the show, in which contestants open red boxes to win money, since 2005.
Channel 4 said the studio-based show will end this autumn but further episodes will be filmed on tour around the UK at the end of the year.
Edmonds said it was "the beginning of an exciting new era" and that he had wanted to take it on tour "for years".
He has also been offered three new game shows on the channel.
