Subject: Coffee or Tea?

My first choice is coffee, but I will drink tea if it's iced and has a wedge of lemon.  :)

::)  As is usually the case, I have both a hot cup of coffee and a hot cup of tea in front of me.

This is hard to vote on, because I love a good cup of coffee, but I also drink a lot of tea. Lately I've been drinking this excellent organic tea from Taiwan that has no tannin and is 97% caffeine free. It's so weak I need to use two teabags to get much of a flavour, but it's good stuff.

I said coffee, even though I don't really like to drink regular coffee.  I prefer mochas, lattes, etc.  My personal favorite: Mocha Coconut Frapp from Starbucks (or, as my sister calls it, a "Mocho Froco")

Same here, Howard...

Although not the filter variety - it's too bitter...I'll stick with the instant...

I also plough through a fair bit of tea...some bright spark did try and market an 'instant tea' (like the coffee) many moons ago which didn't really catch on...

I had the misfortune to be served a cup of that last week.  How it manages to be both instant and tasted 'stewed' is a mystery to me.  I think I managed to have about three sips so as not to offend and then put it down to pay attention in the meeting.  Suddenly, it was too cold to drink.  What a shame  ;)

Not the filter variety?  Well no wonder you're able to drink so much coffee then!

When I drink coffee, I like it strong (though not 'Espresso strong').  I grind beans myself, and I add one scoop of grounds per cup!  I can't drink 'watered-down' coffee like the kind they serve at McDonald's....tastes like dishwater!  :o

I picked coffee because whenever I drink it once in a while, it's so good, it rocks!! I like black with sugar, but the specialty kinds with flavors, creams, froth, even iced can't be beat. I do drink almost as much tea!! :)

Not being an absolute connoisseur, I once made the fatal mistake of asking for an Espresso in the belief that what I was getting was something along the lines of a Cappucino...(you can see what's coming next, can't you?!!)

Not wishing to appear difficult by returning it, I downed this 'thimble' in one slug...jeez! I could still taste the thing three weeks later...!!

And being lazy, I probably also go for the instant because the washing-up is less grisly...!

Yikes!!!  :o

A couple years back when I was visiting Paris with my parents, I ordered an Espresso at this one little cafe.  I could not believe how strong it was!!!  Even with water as my chaser, I was not able to finish the 'tiny' cup.  My parents were drinking the same thing and they were saying, "Oh, this is nice" (meaning the coffee)!  They are they true coffee connisseurs, IMO!  ;)

I drink both tea and coffee, depends how i'm feeling at the time. I drink coffee white with half a sugar if I feel I need a sweetner.  Tea I drink white without sugar.  I find tea is a better thirst quencher than coffee.

Coffee, definitely, whether it be Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts.

I like the Starbucks best...especially the eggnog latte when it's in season.

Most other times, however, I mainly prefer tea...whether it's hot or cold, depending upon the time of year.

I like them both.

It used to be coffee, but then I went to Philadelphia, and a darling lass named GIS taught me how to have a proper cup of tea with cream in it.  So now I like tea a lot more.  I go back and forth between the two.  I even have a real tea kettle now and everything. :)

I know both Karen & Gis hate me because I love Lipton tea and I keep the tea bag in the cup forever-and yeah, I also like iced tea, too.  :-\\

But no cream/milk, no sugar, & no lemon. Just water & the tea bag (or with iced tea-maybe some ice cubes & a straw). When I first started drinking tea as a kid, I drank it with milk but then I stopped-because I basically stopped drinking milk and hardly ever have it in the house.
