I did this poll on the old board but I thought I would do it again so that all the newer members could contribute. Besides, it is the season for eating nuts.... :D
My favorite nut is the almond. I also like cashews and walnuts a lot though... :)

Yeah almonds as well. Peanuts are alright as well but I heard from somewhere that they aren't really nuts. ???

I love nuts (stop laughin'...this is a G rated post!) :P They tend to do a number on my tummy...but I can eat 'em in small doses. My favorite would be walnuts... I especially love 'em roasted.

I like almonds the best, with walnuts, pecans, pistachios and macadamias in a four-way tie for second. Peanuts...I sometimes eat them, but I don't like the taste of peanut butter.

*gasp* I know this one. The peanut is a member of Fabaecae. Fabaecae are also called Legumes. And, unless my French has turned rusty, "legume" is the French word for vegetable. Funny how these things turn around!
The only reason I know that is because fabaecae is just one of those words that sticks in ya mind..

Ditto! My mom buys chocolate covered almonds at Trader Joe's, and I seem to eat a lot of them. I also like to munch on regular almonds; sometimes I take a whole handful. :)

You know it is purely an opinion. For regular old eating it's peanuts, but for baking and cooking it has to be walnuts and then almonds. I should start a new topic and see if it flies from this topic.
