In the case of red meat, the rarer the better (just wipe its backside and serve...!!)

Meat- Lamb fillet, pheasant, rabbit, duck breast (or aromatic crispy chinese duck-mmm!)

Fish- I enjoy & can cook all fish & molluscs/crustaceans, but it's hard to get fish fresh enough for my tastes- odd, considering I live on a relatively small island!

I love good homegrown vegetables & fruit, straight out of the ground/ off the tree. I spent a lot of time in my childhood supplying meals for my family by catching fish in the sea, or poaching rabbits/ pheasants then swapping the surplus with local villagers for veg they'd grown. I wish the food I eat nowadays was so cheap, tasty & nutritious- those free meals always tasted the best, somehow!

You're so right...it is yummy! We also use ricotta to make cannoli filling (Italian pastry). Cannolies can be yummy too. ;D

Wanna hear a funny cannoli story? On Christmas Day in 1989, our dog Dusty ate a cannoli intended for me! See, I was sitting nearby, putting baseball cards into my baseball card album, and the cannoli was on a plate, near me, on a low table. And as I was inserting card #139 into the album, Dusty comes by, places her front paws on the table, and gobbles up the cannoli! :D My parents saw what had happened and couldn't believe it! We all cracked up laughing!

That is sooo funny, I have a similar story:

I was staying at my sisters house one time and I was the only one home.  I decided to make a PB & J sandwich and I brought it into the living room to eat it as I watched TV.  Well, I heard someone knock on the door, so I set the plate down on the coffee table to answer the door.  I open the door, there's nobody there, so I shut the door and turn around and the sandwich is gone. ???  Mind you this was maybe 4 seconds.  The dog was sitting nearby, but looked as if he hadn't moved.  I looked around the house and couldn't find the sandwich anywhere.  Hhmmmmmmmmmm....where could it be?  The dog was the only answer.  So I pried open his mouth and too a big whiff and there was only a very faint smell of peanutbutter.  He probably sucked it up and swallowed it whole. ;D

That's funny, Chrissy :D It sorta reminds me of the beginning of episode #51 of "Full House", where a pregnant stray dog made herself at home with the Tanners. (That's when Comet was born.) In the opening scene, Joey and Michelle are in the backyard; Joey is just sitting down to eat his sandwich (also peanut butter), then he looks away for a moment. Enter the dog, who comes by and steals Joey's sandwich, then goes away. Joey goes to take a bite of his sandwich, but notices it's gone, so he asks Michelle what happened to his sandwich. "The doggy ate it!" she answers. Joey doesn't believe her, since he takes Michelle's toy dog and opens him up, saying, "I can see inside his tummy." In comes the real dog again, and Michelle points the dog out to Joey, who says, "You're right, there is a dog in here." Michelle says, "I told you so!"

It was from season 3; and it originally aired in November 1989...one month before Dusty ate my cannoli.

Anyway, while I'm on the subject of food, I might as well go eat some lunch...it's just after 1:00 and I'm hungry now. So I'll get going now! :)
