I think that a burger is not a burger without the pickles. They add the flavor that the ketchup and mustard don't.

I said "Ewww YUCK".

I don't like pickles on my hamburger, not at all.  And if I were going to eat a pickle, I would have it on the side.

Actually the only time I eat pickles is when I go to the Deli, when I have a brisket on rye, cole slaw and a cream soda I gotta have a Kosher pickle.

I started eating meat again recently (I know, I know.....no willpower, but I had the veggie thing going for 8 years) and even before I quit eating meat, any hamburger I ate HAD to have pickles on it.

I like certain sweet pickles in certain things. Like in macaroni salad, dill pickles would not taste right, but sweet pickles are perfect.

I've never had Macaroni Saladwith pickles in it. Just Celery and Peas. I'll have to try it. I really like dill Pickles diced into tuna and made into a sandwhich. :D

Yeah, my mom has made it with sweet pickles for as long as I can rememeber. I like sweet pickles with chicken sandwiches. Unfortunatly, I don't eat tuna anymore, but I used to eat albacore tuna when young and loved sweet pickles with it.

I can't stand relish. They put something in there that once you bite into it, it's the most disgusting taste I've ever had in my mouth. Makes me want to hurl  ;D

My personal spin on the matter?

I used to be a chronic pickle-picker, but now I think I've gotten used to them. They add a certain tang or zest, which overides the taste of plastic 'cheese' (in the case of McDonalds), and card-board beef.

They add a weird texture I don't like.. and I'm not keen on the flavor. I always pick them off and give them to my father.

I don't know how they do it at other places, but my experience with pickles is from well-known fast food chains like McDonalds and Burger King.

I love kosher dill, but if it's a plain dill pickle that's ok too.  I'll eat them on burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, by themselves. I do not like sweet nor will I ever like sweet pickles.

It's one of those things I found gross when I was younger that I never could get a taste for. Same with most burger-esque toppings, like tomatoes.

Actually usually when I order my burger with just mustard and pickles, I still end up getting a burger with everything on it, so I just pick off all the offending stuff and live and let die..  :P

I put white cheddar cheese, real cheese, not the stuff that tastes like the wrapper it came in, thinly sliced red onions, honey mustard, mayonnaise, tomatoes, and last and certainly not least my mother's homemade kosher dills sliced lengthwise not widthwise.  I also like my burger patties cooked all the way through and my burger bun to be warm from the oven and lightly toasted.
