Subject: Funny Face

Who all remembers these guys?  They were competition for Kool Aid.  Let's see, there was: Goofy Grape, Freckle Face Strawberry, Choo Choo Cherry, With-It Watermelon, Loud Mouth Punch, Rootin Tootin Raspberry, Jolly Olly Orange, Lefty  Lemon. I think they had others out for a very short period like Chilly Cherry Cola, Captain Black Cherry, PIstol Pink Lemonade, Rah Rah Rootbeer. You can tell I loved this stuff and was upset when they lost out to Kool Aid. I loved Goofy Grape and Choo Choo Cherry.
If you go on Ebay you can still find stuff on them from the premiums you could get to unopened packages. I have two packets of Jolly Olly Orange and Goofy Grape with Union 76 on it from a giveaway at the gas station.
They also had another brand called the Thirst Fighters. I think they were: Crash Orange, Sir Reginald Lime and I can't remember the other one.
Boy, I wish these were still around. The commercials for Funny Face were memorable.

When you're hot, you're hot
You need a lot of lot
It's Funny Face.

That's "Chinese" Cherry for the old folks who remember the time before political correctness took over.

There's an April-to-May 2011 thread where someone was looking for a jello-style drink mix.  But Funny Face wasn't the answer.  It existed, but ut it wasn't gelatinous.

But the truth of the matter is, the Kool-Aid guy was completely innocent.  And the Funny-Face characters were also completely innocent (sure, they were kinda racist in their original incarnations, but parts of the US still had segregation back then, so Funny Face was the least of America's concerns).

The mascot associated with the beverage of choice at Jonestown was actually the googly-eyed drinking straw from Flavor Aid.

Why don't we tell Jonestown jokes?
The punch lines are too long!
