Those are some old pictures - how long has it been since were packaged in aluminum trays?

I liked the Hungryman dinners with the chicken, but haven't eaten one in 10 years or more.

Those photos are from the 50's & 60's so until the invention of the microwave, the TV Dinners were on aluminum trays.

I love TV Dinners.  I remember when they came in aluminum trays.  They also had a tinfoil cover.  I always had to be careful not to burn my fingers cause the foil would be scorching hot

I eat the Swanson TV Dinners quite often.  It's a fast and easy meal

They're a healthier choice compared to fast food when you're on the go. But they're not too tasty. They're an ocassional thing... like if I'm going camping and don't have much room or money for proper food.

The best TV dinners/ready meals I've ever had are those from the Count On Us range at Marks and Spencer. There's Thai Green Curry, Ham and Mushroom Pizza, Chicken with Cashew Nuts, Spinach and Ricotta Canneloni and Chicken in Red Wine and Mushroom Sauce. The desserts in the range are also divine. Best of all, all food in the M & S Count on Us range is calorie controlled and they're also Points Plan friendly for my Weight Watchers plan.

Another range of ready meals I'm starting to like is Perfectly Balanced at Waitrose. I do my regular food shop there now because it's rather pleasant and peaceful. I've only ever had the WPB Moussaka and the Chicken with Cashew Nuts as well as two of the soups in the same range.

the salsbury steak always tasted better covered in ketchup.

You can get banquet TV dinners for $1 in some stores! The fried chicken & chicken fried steak don't taste too bad- especially when they cost so little.

I eat Lean Cuisine almost every day for lunch.  They are a lot better than they used to be - especially the Asian inspired dishes.

Banquet still makes TV Dinners.  I had one a while ago, and just how bad was it?  I went into the crapper and almost didn't come out LOL

I think I shall stick to Swanson

Wow!  I haven't eaten a tv dinner in years.  I used to like the fried chicken that came with the chocolate pudding.  Those peas were nasty, though.

for some reason my "pudding" was more like cake. I mean I could pull the whole thing out of its compartment with a fork and it would remain in tact

I eat Lean Cuisine on occasion, when I don't feel like cooking or going out.

I love the packaging on those vintage TV dinners!  :D

I always liked the Swanson entrees where you got just the meat and sidedish, no vegetable or dessert. My favorite was the turkey in gravy with dressing and whipped potatoes. They were still in the aluminum tins even after microwaves came out; don't remember when it changed to paper.

The ones that come with a Brownie I don't really like, because when you cook them in a microwave, you have to "carefully remove the brownie with a fork" and then put the rest of the dinner back in the microwave.  Almost everytime I try to carefully remove it, it breaks apart.  I could just cook it in the stove oven, but that takes too long.  My stomach can't wait that long ;D

When my sister and I were kids we'd beg our mom to get us T.V. dinners.  Every once in a while she would buy them, they were nasty.  ;D

Does anybody else remember these TV Dinners?

I used to have these for lunch on Sundays after church. My brother and I would head into the living room and watch AWA pro wrestling on the TV and have our dinners on TV trays.

I haven't had one in ages and when I was a kid, my mom would serve them to us and now I can't see serving one to my own kid. I'd rather cook. I remember the fried chicken and enchilada dinners the most.  I would rather have a pot pie

I still love pot pies to this day. Now they have microwave ones so you don't have to wait the 45-50 minutes for it to bake. Just stay way from the Banquet ones because they were being recalled.
