I have the esteemed honor in my family of having the rep. for preparing really ugly looking food but at the same time tastes remarkably good.  I served an omelette to one of my son's friends once and he asked "Is that thing dead, I could have sworn it moved".  I then replied "try it, you'll like it" and he couldn't believe that "he ate the whole thing". (Good thing he wasn't my son - I'd have asked him if he wanted to eat it or wear it.)

Yesterday my father made mashed potatoes,with brocolli,mixed together with eggnog.

I don't like Spam either. I can eat one slice and that eats. It's too freaking salty.

I also HATE hog's head cheese. It's a gross slimy jellied meat block made with the snouts, ears, maws and probably anything else on the pig. (I love pork, but not that!) And it's like chewing on a canvas shoe when you try to eat it.  8-P 8-P
My father loves it and raves about it, but I wouldn't eat it if I was on the brink of starvation and that's all that was available. 8-P

If God had wanted meat to be jellied, it'd come in Smucker's jars!
