Subject: Cadbury Creme Eggs
Written By: AnnieBanannie on 03/01/08 at 3:24 pm
I was in the drugstore today and couldn't resist buying a Cadbury Creme Egg. Is it just me, or are they slightly smaller now than they used to be? I haven't had one since at least the early 90's...I remember it being slightly bigger.

When I was young the Cadbury Creme Eggs tasted sweet, and as I got older in life the sour the taste got.

My Mom said the quality has gotten worse over the years. She's a true Cadbury Creame Egg fan. I can't eat them, too rich.

Love em, although they make me thirsty.
Have you seen the orange creme ones?

They are on special offer in the supermarket so I bought some the other day.
And now that I think about it, Anniebannanie, they might have been a bit bigger years ago.

I think the big ones don't taste as good as they use to. I usually see them loose and not packaged these days. Thats why we buy the mini ones.

The last time I can remember having one was in 2003...they tasted just fine to me. :) Of course, anything can happen in five years.

As a matter of fact, I just bought one yesterday at Rite-Aid. I haven't eaten it yet, but plan to. And, I do agree, they seem smaller than before. Maybe not a lot smaller, but just a tab bit. The really are sweet though, and also make me very thirsty.

I love Creme Eggs. The mini ones are really cute and there are different variations of the eggs such as one that comes with Cadbury's Fingers.

I had a Cadbury Creme Egg once in my life and that was more than enough for me. I don't care for them at all. They are smaller to me also.

How do you eat yours?
Bite off the top, lick up the insides and then devour the shell!
No one said it was gonna be pretty. :)

Strange how they promote Cadbury Creme Eggs in Lent went chocolate is truly forbidden?

I haven't noticed anything really about the size, except that you can intentially buy smaller eggs. Fact is, my mom bought a box of them when I was about 11 and I grew pretty tired of how rich they are. As such, I typically won't eat them, although I am interested in trying out one of the orange-filled eggs.
I recently saw a comedian who was talking about how Cadbury eggs should be available all year round, only different holiday themes (Cadbury ghosts, turkeys, bells, whatever). Although I'm not much into them, I thought this was a cool idea, so I opted for the next best thing. I bought a box of 48 eggs the other day and put them in the fridge; I'll be handing them out at Halloween.

In some cultures it might be forbidden...heck, sometimes even Valentine's Day falls during Lent (like it did this year).

They are smaller yes. A while back on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien", comedian B.J. Novak brought this up, and even had an actual Creme Egg from years ago and compared it to a recent one, and there was a great size difference

My husband mentioned this to me the other day. It seems like everything gets smaller or they change the recipe.

Used to love them. Now that I'm older they are a bit too sweet. And I could tell they got smaller, but I didn't realize it was as much as it is in that picture. That's crazy... Everything's gotten smaller. Unforunately, it's also gotten more expensive.

Even the Cornetto has got smaller.
