I've always hated egg nog...I don't know..something about the taste of it makes me sick. I guess I will have to be boring and say hot cocoa...either that or coffee with Kahlua or Irish creme.

You just take a quart or so of sherbet, put it in a punch bowl, and then pour champagne over it.

2kidsami can correct me on that if I'm wrong, but I think it is basically the same thing as the punch I had at my baby shower, except we used lemon lime pop.

Well here is the recipe -I could not find it on recipezaar!  Luckily I have it jotted down!

Champagne Punch

3/4 C. wyler's presweetened lemonade mix (the dry powder stuff - presweetened)
2 (46oz) cans unsweetened pineapple juice, chilled
2 (750ml each) champagne, chilled
1 (750 ml) dry white wine, chilled
1 qt. sherbet (lime, orange, raspberry, or whatever you like)

In advance freeze sherbet in a ring mold or at the last minute drop into punch in balls.

Mix lemonade powder with pineapple juice add champagne and wine.

sit back, relax, and enjoy ;D

My husbands aunt always makes it for our Christmas dinner and I love it, and we have a great time...  I have made it for several other occasions, but I still think of it as a Christmas drink :)

This California girl usually needs a bottle of whisky to fortify herself against the cold Chicago winters.

Except I usually make the bottle last a week or so... :D

I've never ever had eggnog.  :( It looks tasty though.

For Christmas it's always Baileys, Advocaat or kahlua with milk. Nice n creamy! I suppose advocaat is a little like eggnog.

Since I stopped drinking alcohol 8 years ago I will have to say nothing, however,
before I stopped, a Christmas Eve couldn't pass without a bottle of Grolsch beer
early in the evening followed by a snifter full of Asbach Uralt,  (A German Brandy sort of like Cognac.)

It doesn't have to be alcohol, I don't think. :)

I guess not but now I don't have a favorite drink because I drink the same thing every day,
regardless of the day. 1 cup of coffee in the morning, 1 bottle of Pepsi for lunch and the
rest of the day is plain old water.

P.S., If I'm not working I'll skip the Pepsi.  ;)

Andria and I have the same taste in holiday beverages, although I prefer my nog without alcohol and in larger quantities than she drinks.

OOOOOh I have a recipe for a Cranberry Bog mulled wine, yummy - but you need a bottle of Cranberry wine in order to make it, the winery in Northern Illinois (Galena) makes it.....  Good stuff :)

Mulled wine with some harder stuff too.....

"Danish Christmas glogg is a hot, mulled wine beverage, usually made with red wine, port wine and some strong spirits like Danish schnapps or vodka...

...and spiced with cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, orange peels, raisins and almonds.

It's a typical Danish beverage, traditionally served at Christmas parties during the Advent season. "

Do not hear many people having it out anymore though?
