Subject: Unusual foods you have on your Holiday table!

Written By: 2kidsami on 11/20/12 at 7:26 am

I am seriously contemplating making the White castle stuffing for our thanksgiving meal!  Heck I already have Cheeseburger soup on our table, a family favorite, so why not cheeseburgers in the stuffing.  Has anyone tried it???

This got me contemplating about others "non-traditional" family favorites!  Let us know!

We may even ask you for a recipe to try on our families!

Nothing "unusual" per se on my holiday table, but we often include something Italian in our Thanksgiving meal. Most times it's raviolis.

Our Thanksgiving meals are always traditional. We never have anything unusual as a dish. I wish we did though, maybe something that isn't traditionally served on Thanksgiving...like cooked shrimp!

Our Canadian/Oriental family often doesn't have a traditional dinner. We will eat Chinese or Japanese food at what most people would call a "traditional dinner". Personally I don't care what I eat from whatever traditional dinner, as long as the food is good.

Chinese fried rice with sliced Chinese sausage made by my wife's uncle. this actually is everyone's favorite because the recipe is from Lady Di's grandma who used to make it and passed away and now her uncle Ray continues to make it.

We have a traditional meal for Thanksgiving. Turkey, stuffing, coleslaw, peas and pearl onions, corn, broccoli,
cranberry sauce, spinach, mashed potatoes and biscuits. Nothing is unusual about that but what is unusual is
the bottle of ketchup on the table.

I made White Castle slider dressing again!  It is a hit with the kids!!!  And it was all gone at the end of dinner, the other dressing wasn't (but I thought it was dry...  I prefer a moister dressing ).  Habanero Mango or habanero strawberry were on the table this year, and no cranberries!  It is delish on turkey (and pork loin).

sorry no pics, but the recipe came off a wc advertisement.  It was good, not your traditional stuffing, but very good.  And it was easy!

this may or may not be unusual but December is the beginning of dungeness crab season out of the Pacific ocean and when the season is good and the prices are right, we tear up that crab for Christmas or New Years. It's usually boiled for 15-20 minutes, then cleaned, then shells cracked and then you pull out all that delicious meat and gorge!  8)
