But I prefer hamburgers. At a BBQ I will eat both....but if it came down to either or I would choose the burger without even thinking about it....unless all the burgers were covered in cheese  8-P ....then the decision would be made for me.

I'm not sure you are old enough to remember that Mcdonalds used to offer a Quarter Pounder...and it was without cheese. Your kind of burger :)  I don't recall when they took that off the menu and only had the "with cheese" option.

Of course you can still ask for one specially made without cheese.

I'm very picky. I like the way McD's tops their hamburgers (diced onions, ketchup, one pickle, plain bun) the quarter pounder -w/o cheese comes with sliced onions, and a sesame seed bun. They look at you weird when you order a quarter pounder but pretend like its a hamburger. I've also said dress it like a hamburger & I've said use hamburger toppings. No matter how I explain it it confuses them. The McD's staff aren't really very bright.

Hamburgs, I don't like Hot dogs only once in a while and only white hots (Zweigles) and I won't eat a hot dog unless it's on a bun.

Count me in for team hamburger, but if you want to expand the definition of "hot dog" to "any sausage", it'd be a much more difficult call.

I'm going to say burgers. The only kind of hot dogs I like are the ones without the casing.

Not quite, Howard. But a very strict vegetarian. No meat, fish, eggs, animal fat or gelatine. But eggs make me ill anyway.

I like sausage with herbs and cheese inside, on a bun. Also spicy, maybe with some peppers and gooey cheese surrounding it.

I love hamburgers served with hot pickles.

We rarely have hot dogs.  Once in awhile I will order one at Sheetz gas station/food station.  My husband's first wife, she never bought cat food and when he'd come home from being out to sea, their cat would be batting around a full, raw hot dog that she put down for it to eat.  Poor kitty.  It made him so mad.  So we make sure our kitty gets real kitty food.

I do love a good hot dog though.  Especially with saurkraut and onions on it.  No, I don't suppose I'll be kissing anyone after eating that for awhile.  ;)

I like cold pickles on the side. A nice cold Vlasic Dill pickle.

My husband's first wife, she never bought cat food and when he'd come home from being out to sea, their cat would be batting around a full, raw hot dog that she put down for it to eat.  Poor kitty.  It made him so mad.

I don't eat hotdogs as much as I do burgers...but we recently decided to buy some hotdogs, cook 'em up, and put chili beans on them. I've had chili dogs before and they are yummy.

When I make burgers at home, I do it the same way each time: I cook the patty in the oven, it seems juicier when I bake it as opposed to frying it and I use a variety of cheese depending on my mood--cheddar, mozzarella, provolone, pepper jack, not all together, no need to be 'backed up'--and I make a 'slaw' for the top as the burger cooks. It's just shredded lettuce, chopped onion and dill pickle with a bit of black pepper and some pickle juice to dampen it slightly. I eat that on a white bun with mayo.

With the hotdogs, I'm simple-chili cheddar and onions. If I go to Wienierschitzel, I get the Chicago Style Dog or the BBQ one wrapped in bacon.  8)

If they are done well, then hamburgers. I hate bad, dry hamburgers, but that's what you get in Germany at a lot of places, so I don't order them anymore here. North Americans are better in it...

What I wouldn't do for a chili-cheddar dog. :)

A few places that I've been have featured a hot dog on TOP of a burger.  I think that would be quite a mouthful. 

I haven't yet tried it, but maybe one day I will.

I had two of each today at a BBQ.

Hamburgers taste better than hot dogs to me. I like them better with cheese and lettuce.
