Has anyone heard is Rachel going to hook up with Joey this season?  The commercials are eluding to it but has anyone heard anything?

Subject: Re: Friends

I haven't heard, (though I have seen that commercial about it) but I hope not!  I saw the episode where Joey had to send her back to her room when she was feeling, well, you know... ;)  but I would so much rather see her back with Ross  (yeah, yeah, pathetic I know..LOL) but I just think that would be better.  Pretty much everyone has been rooting for them forever..besides, Phoebe makes a lot of comments (and has for years) about her and Joey ending up together.  Aw, who knows.  NBC probably doesn't even know until the fan mail starts rolling in.. ;)

IMO I hope that nothing happens between Rachel and Joey. I think that it would ruin the show.I would much rather see Joey and Pheobe together, they have made alot of comments that leads you to believe that they have the hots for each other, and besides they make a perfect couple, together they might have one brain.I believe that they wont get togther though until the final season or even the final episode.

In my opinion it wouldn't really matter. We probably wouldn't see it for ages in this country anyway, and besides, it wouldn't happen, surely?

If Rachel and Joey do hook up, what would happen to Ross and Phoebe? And I hope Chandler and Monica will divorce soon so that they can become "Friends" again instead of "Friends, a Husband and a Wife". ;)

Ever since I've watched friends, Ive always wanted Joey n Phoebe, Ross n Rachel and Monica and Chandler to all pair off by the last ever programme. One down, two to go! Has the new series of friends started in america? We should get it on cable next month ( hopefully!)

By the way, what does everyone actually thing of friends now. I used to love it up until middle of series 4, then i think it started going downhill. Last season started to get slightly better in my opinion, but what do you all think about it?

Subject: Re: Friends

I would hate to see Monica and Chandler divorce!!  I mean, the writers have taken a lot of the zip out of their characters since putting them together, but I would rather they were boring together than dating other people now.   To have them divorce and just be friends again just wouldn't feel right.

I hope Rachel either sticks with Ross or finds someone else - NOT JOEY!!  He should give Pheobe a shot.  Or they could hook each other up on some horrible blind dates for a season first.  LOL

Season (Series) 4 wasn't one of their better years, but Season 7 was the pits. Season 8 (This season in the States)  is slightly better. The pregnant Rachel scenario is getting rave reviews from everyone. Some are even putting the show on this year's Top Ten television lists. 8)

Congrats on your 300, cs.

If they pair up Rachel with Joey, that kinda makes Rachel too much of a (pardon my urban slang) ho.

IMO, it would make it all way too ackward.  :P

Now that Monica and Chandler are married, they should just resolve the pairing of Ross and Rachel once and for all, the pairing of Joey and Phoebe and end the show on a good note and while it's still tops.

If it loses popularity because the writers complicate it further by adding stupid and fan-displeasing plots, then it will be too late to get those lost viewers back.

Subject: Re: Friends

A pity they're only going to do only one more series... if you believe what you read. I think the best way to end is for them all to get married, and to (pardon the cliché), live happily ever after. If they end up, not as Friends, as such, but as "Partners"... they could bring back a whole new programme, take it out of Central Perk, and revamp it so as not to look like you've ever seen these actors in your life...

Subject: Re: Friends

If "Friends" did have a series finale this year (or next), they should make it so they signal that they have grown up. Rachel finally marries Barry, but Ross doesn't care since Carol divorces Susan and they remarry (Ross and Carol, not Ross, Carol and Susan). Joey finally achieves acting fame in Army training films and dates a lady General. Phoebe cuts an album, proving that her lack of talent on the show was only an act, because she didn't want the "evil" corporate record companies to exploit her talent. Rachel gives Chan & Mon her baby because she still doesn't trust Barry as a Dad. And besides, Monica wanted it more. They all leave the high rise apartment and NYC. :'(
If "Frasier" is ever going to be canceled (and I'm beginning to tire of that show, too), they should have Frasier, after being hit by his "father"'s cane, wake up at Cheers. Sam Malone tells Frasier that he was dreaming the whole series up, his father really is dead, his mom is still living, he had no brother named Niles (he's an only child), he's not from Seattle and never had a phone-in radio show. Apparently, Frasier had imbibed himself with cheap ale after "Cheers" ended and was in a coma for 11 years. That would explain why Frasier said those "lies" from "Cheers".  ;)

Me too. If they're not careful, something, sometime soon, will spoil the show. And, as much as I respect Friends, and as much as I don't want it to be spoilt by a storyline like this, the sooner, now, they end it, with everyone getting together, and getting married, the better. I'm loathed to say it, but I just can't help it. Sorry.

Oh no. Let me clarify. I'm not blaming it on the babies.

I blame writers for writing pregnancies into scripts (soap operas and sitcoms) and then have the babies born into a disfunctional family (as if we don't get enough of that in real life) or have the babies born to just one parent, the wrong parent, etc.

It would be sooooooooo refreshing for once if the writers would have the baby born to it's happily married, rightful parents for a change.

In the few soap operas I've seen bits of within the last few years, the one thing that stood out the most was the fact that all of the children were illegitimate. The all had either no idea who their parents were and/or were switched at birth.
I was just trying to make a point. That's all.  :-/

Subject: Re: Friends

Written By: Bobo on 01/03/02 at 02:01 p.m.

I blame things on the writers as well. Not once have I seen a wedding, in a comedy, drama or soap, go as smoothly as you see in your local church. Those programs really do play to extremes.

I take thee, Rachel...

I was like... LMFAO

I watch Days of our Lives from time to time and nobody on that show belongs to who they are suppose to.It gets old.I do feel that Ross and Rachel should get together ,I mean come on wasn't not to long ago Rachel flew to London to stop Ross from getting married, you don't fall out of love that easy and you don't have a fling with the love of your lifes best friend.I will quit watching the show if anything happens,so I am half afraid to watch it.

Pish-Posh! They all need to grow up. Starting with the writers. THIS is part of what sucks in today's society. In the 80's they still made an attempt to keep families together. Now, it's like socially acceptable and politically correct to screw one another and babies come second mentality.

Ok. I'm done again.

It seems to be going around a lot though, family breakup stuff. During so many series of Friends, however many there will be in the end, different permutations of those basic characters will be trialled, tested, and discarded.

wasn't that the one where she invented that name? cuz Joey wanted her to pretend that she was a hand model agent that just *happened* upon the two hand twins, and isn't "phalanges" are fingers/hands? she may have used it before then, I"m not sure, but I think that's what I had thought when I first heard that one...

Well, basically Joey was talking about a big date he had coming up, which made Rachel think about how long it'd been since she had a date, when she'd ever have a date again, etc., so Joey offered to take her out on a date.  He was real sweet, knocked on the door of their apartment to "pick her up", brought her flowers, the whole nine yards.  They went, and had a nice time, they shared their moves when they'd go out on dates and then shared their ways of getting the date to kiss them afterwards. Then Rachel went to bed and Joey just said, to himself, just how good of a time he had with Rachel.  Then on his big date with the other girl, he made a comment about had she ever suddenly looked at someone in a way she'd "never seen them before"..he didn't get anywhere with the "deep thoughts", because this chick was a "typical" Joey date.  He came home to find Rachel watching Cujo, (which they had discussed earlier, about her never having seen it, etc.) and being freaked out.  So, she asked him to "protect her" and he sat down next to her in the chair and she was hugging on him and asked if he was scared, and he just said in a soft way "Terrified".
They showed that next week he is going to tell some of the other friends that he "likes Rachel"..it was a sweet episode, but to me it didn't seem like the "regular Joey", you know?  I love Joey, sure, but he was just being way more "intelligent" than he normally is.  But from my standpoint, it looked like Rachel wasn't treating or feeling any differently for him, it was just him.  I really hope that they won't go any further with it.  But I'm guessing that maybe next week, while Joey is sorting out his feelings about her, they also showed that Rachel and Ross are going to find out the sex of the baby, and they both seemed real excited, so maybe when Joey sees them together like that, he'll realize that he and Rachel just aren't meant to be.  At least I hope so!!   ;D

I, too, noticed that Joey wasn't his normal, goofy self.  In a weird way, I want him to get with Rachel.  This could be his opportunity to be a "real" guy.  Then again, his idiocrisy is what makes the show funny.

Phoebe is dating a rich boy named Mike. Phoebe's old flame David arrived from Minsk, clueless that she is dating because she said she wasn't. So when Mike saw David hold Pheeb's face, they immediately got into a shoving match. She told David to leave and he did, leaving lots of Minsk brochures.
Rachel was upset that Ross told her he was rapping "Baby Got Back" to Emma, the baby, and that she liked it. When Rache had Emma, she struggled with other songs until she also rapped the Sir Mix-a-Lot tune and got smiles. Then they both rap to Emma, while the rest of their friends and Mike look aghast. LOL, the funniest "Friends" this season.

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Soooooo...Phoebe got all tripped out that she had never had a serious relationship before and Ross tried to help but he's becoming more retarded by the episode...Monica thought Chandler was into shark porn...and Joey dated a girl he swore he had slept with before but it turned out to be her roommate that he had slept with.  Joey was cool, but how Ross ever got with Rachel is beyond me.  I think Gunther should have a go with Rachel :)

Actually, Rice Cube, 'Friends' has had many African-American guest stars, although Huey does have a point on the culture whitewashing.
If any sitcom is racist, it would be "Seinfeld". Name me one group of people that the show hasn't mocked or offended.
