Subject: virus Alert

Written By: Gis on 01/30/02 at 02:58 a.m.

I don't know whether this one is already known to you or not ,but as this warning came from our systems department who say every virus is a hoax no matter what I figure it must be a bad one !! Basically if you get an email called 'Photo's from my party' delete it without opening it at the moment there is no cure.

There are also a lot of virus hoaxes out there.  When I get a warning from someone I usually check it out here first.  Best bet is to never, ever open an attachment, even if it comes from a friend.  Your friend may have gotten "hit" and be spreading it inadvertantly.

If a virus is not on the Norton Anti-Virus files, then there's no way to tell if my computer is carrying a virus or not. The computer people also say look for worms and Trojan horses. ???

You can read the message, just don't open the attachment.

I'm not even going to do that. The minute I see it, I'm going to delete it. It also helps that they don't know what my real e-mail address is or at least they can't get to it from here.

I have Mcafee and they sent me an email yesterday about this one.  I only know of one person who ever sends me pics, and I would have been to her party so I won't open this one, at least.  I was hit with the Blackhole Virus a year ago.  That one is nasty, and now I am extremely careful.  I don't even know where I picked up the other one.  Viruses are not fun. >:(

Like My Father said:

If you see that doesn't seem right, delete it.The best thing to do if you don't recognize who it is or whom it is from, just delete it.
