Subject: Anyone Still Watching "Buffy" or "Angel"?

Written By: Indy Gent on 04/24/02 at 05:27 p.m.

If anyone is still watching "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" or Angel, how do you feel about it now? I would like to inquire specifically on these sub-topics:
BTVS:
Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg):Is it time for her to go?
Willow and Tara (the "relationship" and the witch thing)
What will Spike do now that Buffy dumped him?
Anya's return to Demonhood after Xander got cold feet on their wedding day.
Will Riley ever come back?

Angel:
Fred (Amy Acker)
Will Angel and Cordy "do it"?
Where is Angel's baby?
Wolfram & Hart: Why do they want to keep Angel alive, yet also want to kill him?
Holtz

I watch Angel from time to time...sorry but I don't make predictions on what is going to happen next.  Although, I do think that Angel and Cordy will start a relationship now that she is part (?) demon.

No need for either one of you to apologize. It's not everybody's cup of tea. And I can miss a few eps because my sister knows a little of what's going on.

I don't watch that stuff, J.C.

Have you ever seen Charmed?  I watch that every now and then.  Maybe twice a season.  LOL  I like it, though.  I'm glad Shannon Dougherty is off it, because I don't really like her much.  Not her, specifically, just something about her annoys me.   ;D

IMO Buffy has continued to go downhill ever since they graduated from high school.  I used to love the episodes of Buffy when they were in high school, but college tries to hard.

Michelle Trachtenberg as an actress annoys me (Harriet the Spy, anyone? *shudder*) and I don't see any need for Buffy to have a sister, so I think she should go.

Willow and Tara - another thing that makes no sense is making Willow a lesbian.  Tara also annoys me, I wish they would bring Seth Green (Oz) back.

Spike and Buffy - Ok, so what is the deal with Buffy and these vampires?

Anya and Xander - Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the recent episodes but I always liked them.

Riley - annoyed the hell out of me, if only for that one episode which centered completely around Buffy and Riley having sex.

And, sorry I don't watch Angel.  I actually don't watch either of these shows on a regular basis.  Buffy seems to have lost its sense of humour which made it so fresh and exciting before.

Yes, I had seen a couple of episodes of "Charmed", and I didn't like it. Alyssa Milano can't act her way out of a paper bag, and I don't like Rose McGowan. The only one I like was Holly Marie Combs, and that was when she was in "Picket Fences".  ;D

I have to agree that Season 3 was the last good season they had. I hope Michelle improves on her acting because she has babe potential (maybe at 18 ).
Seth Green already has a show on FOX (Greg the Bunny), so if the ratings are as good as the reviews, we may have seen the last of Oz  :(.
Tara briefly broke up with Willow after our favorite redhead got carried away with her witchcraft. But they're back together.
Anya became a demon again after Xander jilted her on their wedding day. I was hoping she would lose her soul after they slept together, like Angel did after sleeping with Buffy. It was done before, but it worked.
Buffy rebuffed Spike, and I guess he is going to make her friends turn on her by showing them "doing it".
Agreed with you on the episode with Riley and Buffy having sex. But I think she still needs him. Or at least tie up some loose ends.

Finally, "Angel" is actually better than "Buffy" right now. But I missed the last couple of shows. >:(

yes, i'm quite pathetic when it comes to buffy.  i watch it every day on fx as well as the weekly eps on primetime.  i got my mom hooked too.  i did notice that there are a lot of differences between the h.s. eps and the college/current eps, but i wouldn't go so far as to say it's going downhill.  when you watch every season back to back like i do (i know, i already said i'm pathetic :)), the seasons do mesh together pretty well.  the way i see it is...none of us is the same as we were in h.s., so why should they keep a character that way?  they're all adults now, so they're facing more adult situations.

dawn...interesting concept that may be outgrowing it's appeal not because of storylines, but because of the actress...i don't really care for michelle trachtenberg.  i mean, buffy does need someone to take care of since her mom died.

willow/tara...lots of controversy about this one.  i'm all for the concept of sexual exploration being approached tastefully on television, and i think they've done that here.  what i don't get is that willow (one of my faves) goes from being completely straight to completely gay in less than a season with very little of the confusion that most real people who go through that experience.  and i did really enjoy oz...i'd like to see him back in some capacity.

spike...what can i say?  he's totally screwed up.  i was hoping that he and buffy would work their 'situation' out and that he'd maybe turn into a totally good guy, but that was wishful thinking.  mostly because i think james marsters is HOT!!

anya/xander breakup...this one totally p*sses me off!!!  i loved those two together...they're the two funniest characters on the show.  i don't want her to be a demon again!!  but i heard that her contract is up and they have to get rid of her somehow.  but it still p*sses me off.

riley...riley=annoying pain in the butt.  maybe he'd have been better if they'd had a different actor...i thought he seemed really fake, both his appearance and his acting.  i do think buffy needs someone, but riley IS NOT it!

i don't really watch angel, not because i don't like it...i've liked all the eps i've seen.  i'm just usually working when it's on, so i miss it.  and it's not on every day like buffy, at least not on any of my channels.

wow this is getting long.  o.k. i'm almost done.  one more thing...'buffy' was named one of tv guide's 50 greatest shows of all time, which is cool.  o.k. i'm done!!

Subject: They Killed Tara!

Written By: Indy Gent on 05/07/02 at 11:11 p.m.

That geek Warren killed Tara :o and left Buffy to die (again). Although I'm not surprised they killed Tara, I'm still in shock.
And Amber Benson (Tara) had finally made the intro credits. Buffy does recover, and Willow uses her evil powers for revenge.

Well that beats all. In Australia Buffy has just been "spiked" by Spike and appears to be no-where near the episodes that I have been reading about. Tara and Willow have broken up  and Amy the rat girl is on the scene. Now after reading all these messages I know what to look forward to....Now can any one advance me on Angel?  Baby Connor has just been born......

Ooops sorry. I should have known the Aussies were a wee bit behind on the Buffy storyline. I won't give you anything that happens in between the break-up and the murder other than Willow and Tara briefly get back together, the Scoobies find out about Spike's "spiking" and Xander reacts negatively to it. (Oooops, I did it again.)
As for Angel, I haven't been watching that much. But lets just say that Connor gets "soap opera rapid growth syndrome". ;)
Connor who, you ask?

that could be.  but could i ask you: please, don't give up too much info when you discuss the new eps?  the way my cable is set up, i don't get to see the new ones until the saturday after they first air and i want to be surprised about it.  a little is o.k., but i don't want to know about major events.  thanks.

and yes, i'm a trifle p*ssed that they killed off tara.  but i wonder if they'll somehow bring her back...i mean, they wouldn't put her on the main credits for one episode just to kill her off, would they?  it just seems very impractical.

Unfortunately, Panda, I do not have cable, so I don't know why your cable company would do such a thing. I will be careful next time about divulging too much about any of these "serial" shows.
I doesn't seem to make sense that they would kill off Tara after putting the actress's name on the opening credits because she was only going to be a recurring character anyway. Remember, Seth Green (Oz) and Marc Blucas (Riley) had their names in the opening credits, and both left before their seasons were over. It looks like they're do the same for James Marsters (Spike), only not kill him off.

our cable company doesn't have a UPN station, so i can't watch it on tuesdays...but one of our zillion WB stations plays the same episode on saturdays...i think it's kinda like they have some sort of UPN affiliate program...maybe they'll just change that whole channel to UPN eventually. that would be so cool...or at least convenient.

i'm pretty sure oz/seth green was on the opening credits for a season and a half...i think they put him on at the beginning of season 3, if not it was a few eps into it.  and he left part-way through season 4.  riley/marc blucas was put on half-way through season 4 and made it through most of season 5.  so they were on the opening for longer than you realize.  that is if i'm remembering correctly, and i think i am.

i'm going to have to get together with my friend dan and do some theorizing.  he knows more about buffy and what's going to happen than anyone i know.

I do remember watching a Season 6 episode on Saturday. (BTW, the one where we find out Buffy was in Heaven and not Hell, which is Sunnydale. Don't ask  ::).) When BTVS was still on the WB, basketball games usually preemted it and had to wait until Saturdays at 8 to see the new episodes of both BTVS and "Angel". Luckily, the UPN station does not carry any basketball games.

one is never too old for buffy or angel or cartoons.  my mom's in her mid 40s and watches buffy reruns on fx every morning.  i had to throw cartoons in because they rock!

i got to see the season finale last night at my friend, dan's house...he taped it tuesday and had me come over to see it.  it was awesome.  giles rocks!!!  and i knew that spike would end up with something totally different than he requested from the green-glowy-eyes guy.

:o ??? :'(WHAT?!, SPIKE IS LEAVING!!??. He is best character on the show!  No matter how much I like the others, I don't think I could bear watching with no SPIKE!!
This is really very upsetting news! :'(  I am a diehard XFile fan and have seen every episode at the very least three times and could watch them another three times.  Mulder was sooooo fine!!!  FX showes the XFiles at 5pm and 1am as apposed to practially non stop all evening, and took NYDP Blue off completely.  I WAS A FX ORPHAN WITH NOTHING TO WATCH!  I started to watch Buffy just because there was nothing else until 8pm.  Now I am hooked I just love that show, it is on FX from 7-8am and 8-9am and then again from 6-7pm and 7-8pm every night with WB (I think) showing the new shows weekly.

I wanted to say to the person who thinks they are too old to watch, (27-35 oooh, so old) I just turned 40. I am a bartender at the Mirage Hotel on the Strip,in Las Vegas, NV,and everyone I work with knows I am now a Buffy fan and some teasingly ask "so what's up with the Buffster?"  Which obviously shows they have seen enough shows to remember Xander saying "Buffster" (sp?).  (One of them is the pit boss for the craps tables!!) So if we're not too old, your not too old!! And it look like I am going to see Scooby Doo all by myself, no one else wants to go so far.  That's Ok, I am going to see Scooby Doo no matter what!  I just love the part in the commerical where shaggy askes "who your best buddy?" or what ever, and Scooby says "Scooby Doo?" in his doggie accent.  That is so cute! (Do you really like Hall and Oats? ugh!???)

I have only seen a few espisodes and FX seems to replay the same ones over and over again, going in order, then all of a sudden showing an episode with people I've never seen before or people who have died!  For some reason the episode in which Dawn showes up is not aired very much.  As many times as it is on during the week you would think I would have seen it. But NO and it really bugs me!  How did Dawn show up?  What's the deal with the mom (she acts like she had two kids all along)?  I saw the one where Dawn finds out she is the "key" and is kidnapped by 'glory' (sp?)(whose character had a funny personality) and that's it.  No more was shown on that subject that I have seen.  So what's the deal?  How come Buffy sometimes has a little sister and other times not?

I really like Oz too! He is such a cutie.  That rabbit show or what ever stinks! And the lesiban thing, they could have done without.  Its lesiban burnout!! But I still like Willow's character; she was a pretty pissed off witch in the season finale!

The show won't be the same without Spike!  Bummer.
