Subject: Question about No Doubt song.

IS that new one they have out, something with 'keep on dancing' a remake or a sampled song? It sounds so familiar ???

Maybe it's an 80's song or a 70's.... :-/

I really like that new No Doubt song "Hella Good"! There's something about the riff that sounds familiar to me, but I can't figure it out either, Rapture!!!  :)

I did a search and found this out..The opening "Hella Good" set the tempo, a loose remake of the Bangles' "Walk Like An Egyptian" with a techno face lift...

Maybe..but that chorus, "keep on dancing" I have heard before!   ???

I hate searches!   ::) I get so frustrated.  :-/

This will "no doubt" surprise many here, but officially, the band's current hit, "Hella Good", is not a re-make, nor does it sample any previously-recorded song. The law currently states that any tune that samples an older recording must name (and pay royalties to) the original songwriter(s) in the credits. "Hella Good" is credited as being co-written by lead singer Gwen Stefani, bassist Tony Kanal, and the current hip-hop production team of Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo (who also have their own group, The Neptunes). So it's all-original, folks (and I agree, quite catchy) - imagine that! :-)

That's not to say that the lyrics "keep on dancing" haven't appeared in the chorus of a hit song before - in fact, back in the Spring of '79, the group Gary's Gang scored a moderate hit here in the U.S. w/ their disco classic, "Keep on Dancin'"...

Thanks for that info,  80smusicfreak.  It is a catchy song but sadly overplayed.  ::)
