Although I am thrilled that they are going to tour again, it makes me wonder how much longer the Stones can keep it up at their old age(s). Still, more power to them. 8)

At some point you need to come to the realization that it's time to stop.
Isn't it about time the Stones realize it?  Maybe someone should tell them.  Anyone have Mick's phone number?

David Bowie is also going to be performing at a concert (oh no!). He was my example of a very talented artist retiring while he was still excellent. I hope he doesn't make an @$$ out of himself like the Stones or Ozzy...

Well said TB!  If Sharon Osbourne was a wife who really, REALLY cared about her husband (instead of loads of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$), she'd have strongly encouraged Ozzy to retire long ago.  I'm so embarrassed for him.

I say let The Rolling Stones do whatever they want, whatever makes them happy. It's their right. Live and let live.

One doesn't have to see them if they don't wish to.

I'm quite certain they'll have no problem getting people to their show. "The Stones" are quite admired for their incessant energy.

They were once quoted as dying happiest on stage performing.

Just my opinion.  ;)

I'll add that I do believe there are some artists out there who should know when to call it quits and that's strictly based on the fact that they have no more to offer musically (quality-wise), not because of their age.

I just did in my post above. It was an opinion. That's all. Don't take it personal, cs.

Weren't they also quoted as saying they'd rather be dead than having to perform "Can't Get No (Satisfaction)" at the age of 45? If anyone brought age into this,it was themselves. Personally , I couldn't care less for The Stones from their Disco album on to to-day...but, that's just my opinion ;)

Oh, I'm working on some particularly evil revenge! (has anyone seen my lawn darts ??? )

Seriously, I missed the last Stones tour. My best friend, who was a raving Stones fanatic, and another freind of hers, who was even more of a raving Stones fanatic, got together on the phone before the last tour and decided they were "too old and tired" to go to another concert, and "gave themselves permission" to skip it. I was broke, but my mother knew how much I wanted to go, and offered to send me money for the tickets. But I couldn't find anyone to go with and didn't want to drive myself to downtown L.A. and try and find parking etc. I was soooo sad!  :'(

But I've seen them 8 times: Cleveland '75, Cleveland '78, Cleveland '81 (twice), Detroit '81, LA '89 and Pasadena (twice) in 90-something. So I guess I can't complain. :-/
